6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.  (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Our Philosophy of Christian Education

God, our creator, has given each newborn baby a joy and excitement for learning about the world.  From the moment of birth, a child is learning to become the person God created him to be.  By the time he/she is ready to enter school, he has already mastered much under the care and instruction of his parents.

Deuteronomy 6:4-7 charged parents to teach their children.  Staff and teachers at the Ebenezer Academy see our participation in a child's education as a privilege afforded us by the parents.  Our aim is to be an adjunct to the parent and help in this awesome task of educating your children to be Godly men and women.  We endeavor to nourish and refine that joy in those who still possess it, and rekindle the joy in those who have been oppressed.  We want to remind them of their God given excitement of learning.

We recognize that each child is a unique creation of God, and as such, has unique educational needs.  We endeavor to come along side of parents to guide children toward their unique destiny.  We hold high academic and behavioral standards, baseing all of our instruction on God's Word.  Our goal is that each child will master material at one level before being moved to the next level.

Students are encouraged to work on projects of particular interest to them.  Here are 2 students with their parents.  One has been working on rebuilding a junk truck, and the other has built a solar oven and is tweaking it to bake a cake.

Our informal physical education program produces many interesting activities.  Stilt building and walking was a favorite activity, and producing gymnastic positions is always fun.

We believe in a multi-level approach to education.  We group students into classes of various ages.  We recognize that God did not give us multiple children of the same age, but one is born at a time, and each is brought up in a group of different aged children.  We believe school should be like that too.  That way, younger children are not held to the lowest common denominator - they can progress at their own rate, and learn what is important to them.  Older students benefit by helping younger children, and demonstrating the expected behavior for all children to learn.  All students are responsible to one another, all watch out for one another, all love one another.  We do not allow teasing in any mean way, and all disputes are dealt with in a Biblical manner.

We believe that an important part of any student's education is to learn to be good citizens.  We start early to teach about our Constitution and government.  We encourage students to become interested in the news, to learn to be discerning of truth and error, and to become active in our government, local, state, and national.
